Business Agents are responsible for the representation of the members. They work with the Job Stewards to enforce the contracts and process the members' grievances. If grievances are not settled locally, BA's are responsible for the preparation and presentation of the grievance to higher levels of the procedure, up to and including arbitration. BA's also negotiate collective bargaining agreements (contracts) with employers.
