Voter Registration Deadline: Voter registration is closed during the 30 days prior to an election.
Qualifications: To register to vote in Mississippi, an individual must meet the following qualifications:
Be a U.S. citizen;
Reside in Mississippi;
Be at least 18 years old on or before the next general election;
Have never been convicted of murder, rape, bribery, theft, arson, obtaining money or goods under false pretense, perjury, forgery, embezzlement, or bigamy (or have rights restored);
Have not been declared mentally incompetent by a court.
