Local 991 Picnic

return to Index

The Local Union picnic was held Saturday May, 5, 2007 at Langham Municipal Park in Mobile, Al.  Brother Warren Law cooked delicious BBQ chicken, hot dogs, and all the fixins  for over 175 members and their families.  Brother Russell Comps, DJ, provided music with a great sound system.  The members were given complimentary gifts from the Local Union and door prizes were raffled.  As always, gifts were given to the kids.  This is another way the Local Union  "gives back" to the members.  The picnic is in addition to the Labor Day Parade and the Christmas Party. THIS IS YOUR LOCAL UNION.  We, the Staff, love to see the membership becoming involved, getting to know each other, and socializing.

    On Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, approximately 300 members, including their spouses and children , enjoyed  delicious Bar-B-Que and holiday food, topped off with a visit from Santa Claus, who handed out gift bags to all the children.  The members each received a T-shirt.

    Many thanks to the Christmas Party Committee, Judy Chapa, Cynthia Powe and David Smith, who worked hard to pull off this first Annual Christmas event.  A special thanks to Virginia Hooper, Debbie Salmon, Keith Salmon, Mike Etheredge, Antoine Lott, Mack Taite, Terry Taylor, John Armstrong, and Shane Williams,(also known as Santa), who supplied muscle power and helped distribute the gift bags.
